    The Pointer siblings, especially Anita and Bonnie, spent many of their summers in Prescott, Ark. with extended family members. During these moments they were exposed to the poverty and racism that exemplified much of Black southern life. But they also discovered the diverse soundscape of the region.
    Anita Pointer, one of the Grammy award-winning Pointer Sisters whose string of hits included Automatic and I’m So Excited, has died aged 74. She was surrounded by family at her Beverly Hills home in California when she died on New Year’s Eve, her publicist, Roger Neal, said. In a statement, her family said they were deeply saddened by the loss.
    The Pointer Sisters were featured on Lara Saint Paul's 1977 album Saffo Music. The album was produced by Leon Ware, with bass by Chuck Rainey, guitar by Ray Parker Jr., and mixed by Bill Conti. It was released under LASAPA records in Italy.
